Mediabox
In 2008 The Department for Children Schools and Families has allocated £2 million
for Mediabox which will be delivered by a consortium of First Light Movies, Media
Trust, Skillset and the UK Film Council.
The initiative offers 13-19 year olds the opportunity to develop and produce
creative media projects, using film, television, print, radio or online platforms.
Mediabox is for young people to: express their own opinions, ideas and views,
gain new skills, encourage creativity, boost personal development and get their
voices heard.
Film London is helping to coordinate the project in the London region.
In 2008 organisations are asked to submit an expression of interest online and
shortlisted candidates will then be invited to submit a full application. The current deadline for expressions of interest has now passed.
